      <image:title>Private Lessons - Teaching Philosophy</image:title>
<image:caption>I believe that every student has an artistic voice worth developing. My role as a teacher is to help students discover that voice while giving them the knowledge, technique, and musical understanding to express it with confidence and excellence. Music does not exist in isolation. Every piece has a history, a culture, and a set of ideas behind it, and I believe students gain a deeper understanding of music when they learn to consider those contexts alongside the notes on the page. Lessons may therefore encompass technique and repertoire alongside music theory, history, listening, and the broader traditions that shape the music we play. I take a holistic approach to musical education. While I maintain high standards and expect students to take their work seriously, I do not believe there is a single path to becoming a musician. Each student brings different interests, experiences, strengths, and goals to the instrument, and I tailor my teaching accordingly. The greatest joy in teaching comes when a student begins to recognize themselves in the music they make. Ultimately, I want students to leave lessons with more than the ability to play the guitar. I want them to become thoughtful, independent, and empowered musicians who can listen critically, make artistic decisions, and find meaning in music for themselves.</image:caption>

Intermediate Students: Build technique, expand repertoire, and develop greater musical independence. Advanced Students: Prepare for auditions, competitions, performances, or continued study at the collegiate/conservatory level. Adult Students: Serious musicianship for adults who want to explore the guitar, return to an instrument, or pursue a long-standing musical interest.</image:caption>
